Practising What We Preach Here at Delphinium
Oprah, New Jobs and Pitch Perfect
Hello.
Does anyone see where January went?
I had this thought yesterday and began looking at things I hadn’t gotten through on my to-do list. I started to kick myself a bit. But the problem was I wasn’t taking a balanced view of the situation. But for now, here are the Top Tuesday Picks for this week. Okay, so there are a few things that I haven’t done. Will the world end because of it? Absolutely not! On the other hand, I look at what has been achieved with new sales meetings, writing proposals, and onboarding new clients. Plus, I’ve had my head down developing training for Delphinium’s online course library and a bespoke programme for an existing client. I’ve also pushed myself out of my comfort zone and finally immersed myself in some tech, which I’ve been procrastinating about for too long. It’s been a steep learning curve, but I’ve persevered even when I’ve wanted to throw my laptop out the window, and I still have most of my hair, so that’s a bonus! It’s so common to focus on what we’ve not done, what more we want to do and areas in which we want to improve, but if we’re not careful, we can demotivate ourselves. So, when checking progress against your monthly goals and targets, take a balanced approach. And be kind to yourself about the things you haven’t done. If there are things you could have done differently, have the courage to make the necessary changes next month for a better result. If things were out of your control, have the serenity to accept there was nothing you could have done, and in the words of Elsa, “Let it go!”
